Christian Recovery Leader Answers Anti-A.A., Anti-Christians in A.A., Anti-A.A. Co-Founders Blast by John Lanagan of Rapture Ready

March 11, 2012

A devoted Christian Recovery Leader who works with and helps suffering alcoholics and addicts and 12 Step groups in Northern California was deeply offended by the latest attacks by writer John Lanagan. The recovery leader was sent a copy of Lanagan’s article by a Christian leader who received it from a very quizzical Christian lady wanting to know if the accusations were true.

The Christian Recovery Leader has framed the following comment to Lanagan on his article:

“Your article is sad and extremely dishonest. This hateful rhetoric won’t get anyone saved. It will just drive them away from Christ. As near as I can tell, you are hoping just that. However, I am afraid that if you do make it to heaven, you will be sharing it with many who came to Christ after finding God at AA—thanks to the Christians who faithfully attend so that others could hear the rest of the story. People starting in AA are hurting and alone, needing love. Not a pharacitical rebuke. Very sad.

I’ll keep attending AA and continue to lead my brothers in recovery to Christ. Hopefully, they won’t think we are all as ignorant and hateful as you appear to be.”
