Our guest is Randy Moraitis, Executive Pastor of Care & Recovery Ministries at The Crossing Church, located at 2115 Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa, California.

Our attention to this dynamic young man was called by Rev. Jim Gaffney, Recovery Pastor at Mariners Church in Irvine, California. During our conference there, Jim said: “Dick, I strongly recommend that, while here, you go to the Lifelines Meeting at The Crossing Church on Friday and see a real lively recovery program led by Randy Moraitis.” And my son Ken, some others, and I did just that. The place rocked with enthusiasm, young people, a “chip meeting,” and a great speaker—after which it split up into small groups. It was a sight not to be forgotten; and later I was privileged to speak at two of the Lifelines meetings and meet the audience.

Lifelines is a place for those on the journey to recovery to meet and grow in Christ. Every Friday, top recovery experts, pastors, therapists, authors, and psychologists talk on all aspects of addiction and recovery and teach the tools needed for success. Lifelines meets at 7 PM in the Loft at The Crossing. Those who attend include folks who know nothing about God, the Bible, church, or Christianity. It includes people who may have questions or even doubts about faith. But The Crossing is all about helping people say YES to Jesus. Lifelines Recovery Support Groups meet after the large meeting and deal with 12 Step Life Recovery, friends and family of alcoholics/addicts, men’s integrity, re-entry, and the roots of addiction.

Randy will tell us a little about himself, his family and work, and the broad scope of service at The Crossing. Also about the numerous opportunities to serve and get connected. We hope there is time for him to tell us more about the church itself, its 20 plus years, its plans for growth, and its forthcoming Global Leadership Summit. We’d also like to get his take on the Christian Recovery Movement and the International Christian Recovery Coalition, of which he is a participant.
